The primary goals of this study are to determine the risk factors for decline in kidney function and to define how a progressive decline in kidney function impacts neurocognitive function and behavior; the risk factors for cardiovascular disease; and growth failure and its associated morbidity.

Detailed description of study

The primary goals of this study are to determine the risk factors for decline in kidney function and to define how a progressive decline in kidney function impacts neurocognitive function and behavior; the risk factors for cardiovascular disease; and growth failure and its associated morbidity.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: chronic kidney disease
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the risk factors that lead to a decline in kidney function. It also examines how this decline affects brain function and behavior, the risk of heart disease, and issues related to growth and associated health problems. Kidney function is important because it helps filter waste from the blood and maintain overall health.

Participants in the study will undergo various procedures to assess their kidney function, brain activity, and heart health. These procedures will help researchers understand the connections between kidney health, cognitive function, and growth issues. The study may involve tests such as blood draws, imaging, or other non-invasive assessments.

  • Who can participate: Key eligibility criteria include individuals with early signs of kidney function decline or related health issues.
  • Study details: Participants will take part in assessments to evaluate kidney and brain function, as well as heart health.
