Brief description of study.

For an identified cohort of subjects with addiction-related criteria, this analysis seeks to combine emergency room clinical data with EMS data in order to identify trends and statistics in addiction-related utilization. We have two primary aims: (1) to identify connections within the emergency data related types of utilization (e.g. what are the common symptoms/chief complaints) (2) to identify geographical trends related to utilization

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: substance use disorder
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates how people with addiction-related issues use emergency room services. It aims to combine data from emergency rooms and emergency medical services (EMS) to find patterns in how these services are used. The purpose is to understand common symptoms or reasons people visit the emergency room and to see if there are any geographical trends in this usage.

Participants will be part of a study that looks at emergency room data and EMS data. The study will analyze this information to find connections and patterns in the data, such as common symptoms and geographical trends. No direct procedures will be performed on participants as it is an observational study.

  • Who can participate: This study is for individuals of any age identified with addiction-related criteria based on emergency room and emergency medical services (EMS) data. Participants must be part of a specific cohort with these criteria.
  • Study details: Participants will not undergo any direct procedures as the study focuses on analyzing existing emergency room and EMS data. The study aims to identify patterns and trends without additional participant involvement.
