Companion Animals: Reactivity in Undergraduate Students
Research on the Impact of Robotic Pets on Student Stress
Brief description of study.
We are researching if social robotics such as robotic pets can reduce stress in undergraduate students. By using a Hasbro Companion Animal, a teddy bear or neither.

Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: healthy
-
Age: 100 years or below
-
Gender: All
This study investigates whether social robotics, like robotic pets, can reduce stress levels in undergraduate students. Social robotics refers to robots designed to interact with humans on a social level, such as robotic pets that mimic real animals.
Participants in this study will be assigned to one of three study arms: interacting with a robotic pet, interacting with a teddy bear, or not interacting with any object. The study seeks to understand the effects of these interactions on stress reduction.
- Who can participate: The research is open to undergraduate students aged 18-24 who are interested in participating.
- Study details: Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the study arms and will engage with the assigned object or no object at all. The study will observe the effects of these interactions on stress levels.
