This study investigates social functioning in everyday life for people with schizophrenia compared to healthy controls, who are individuals without schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a mental health condition that affects how a person thinks, feels, and behaves, often leading to difficulties in distinguishing between what is real and imaginary.
Participants will undergo various procedures to assess their social functioning. These procedures will involve tasks and assessments designed to understand how participants interact and function socially in their daily lives.
- Who can participate: Adults with a primary diagnosis of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder who speak English fluently may participate. Healthy adults without a psychiatric disorder or history of psychosis who speak English fluently are eligible as controls.
- Study details: Participants will take part in tasks and assessments to evaluate their social functioning. These tasks are designed to measure how they interact and manage social situations in their everyday life.
