Brief description of study.

As a potential way to support your medication taking and management, the aim of this study is to promote your smartphone medication reminder app use. To meet this aim, the purpose of this study is to provide you with a group session introducing a smartphone medication reminder app and to assess whether the group session is helpful for promoting app use.

Detailed description of study

You will be asked to take part in a 2-hour group session.  You will learn about one smartphone medication reminder app.  In addition you will be asked what you think about the app and the group session.  We will conduct the study at a private room at IUPUI or another more conveniently located community site. 

Participants will be compensated for their participation.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Chronic condition
  • Age: 40 years - 100 years
  • Gender: All

Inclusion Criteria

Outpatient

Have been managing a chronic condition with at least 3 prescribed medications for at least 3 months

Not takint antipsychotic medications

Are an iPhone or Android phone user

Have no experience with smartphone medication reminder app use

This study investigates the use of a smartphone medication reminder app to support medication management. Participants will attend a group session to learn about the app and how it can be used to help manage their medications effectively.

During the study, participants will take part in a 2-hour group session where they will be introduced to a smartphone medication reminder app. They will also provide feedback on their experience with the app and the group session itself.

  • Who can participate: Participants must be outpatients managing a chronic condition with at least 3 prescribed medications for at least 3 months. They should not be taking antipsychotic medications and must be iPhone or Android users with no prior experience using a smartphone medication reminder app.
  • Study details: Participants will attend a session to learn about and provide feedback on the smartphone medication reminder app.
