This study investigates how telephone support programs might help patients who are adjusting to metastatic breast cancer. Metastatic breast cancer is a type of cancer that has spread from the breast to other parts of the body. The study aims to understand if regular phone calls can provide support and improve the well-being of these patients.
Participants in this study will receive phone support sessions. These sessions are designed to offer emotional and practical support to help manage the challenges of living with metastatic breast cancer. The study will collect data on how these sessions affect the participants' daily lives.
- Who can participate: Adults who are at least 3 weeks post-diagnosis of stage IV breast cancer and receiving care at specific health centers may participate. Participants must speak English fluently and experience moderate to severe fatigue. Males and those in hospice or without phone service are excluded.
- Study details: Participants will engage in regular phone support sessions aimed at providing emotional and practical support. These sessions will assist researchers in understanding the impact of such support on patients' adjustment to living with metastatic breast cancer.
