This study investigates the possible long-term changes in heart and lung health associated with COVID-19. COVID-19 is a disease caused by a virus that can affect the respiratory system, which includes the heart and lungs. The research focuses on understanding how COVID-19 might impact these systems over time in women.
Participants in the study will be asked to complete questionnaires, perform breathing tests, and do an exercise treadmill test. Other procedures include taking physical measurements like height, weight, and heart rate. These activities aim to gather data on the participants' cardiovascular and pulmonary health.
- Who can participate: Women aged 50-75 years with a BMI between 18.5 and 50 kg/m² who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 can participate. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, and those with certain health conditions like cardiovascular disease, are excluded.
- Study details: Participants will complete tasks such as questionnaires, breathing tests, and an exercise treadmill test to assess heart and lung health.
- Study Timelines and Visits: The study will last 12 months. The study requires 6 visits.
