Brief description of study.

The purpose of this study is to understand why, how and when teenagers use alcohol, marijuana, and tobacco, and what impact these substances have on their health by texting teenagers brief daily surveys for two weeks.

Detailed description of study

The current study proposes to examine associations between daily marijuana use and other substance use among African American adolescents, and to identify potential mechanisms underlying concurrent substance use among this population. This proposal addresses the emerging trend of disproportionate increases in rates of marijuana use among African American youth relative to those of Whites.
Participants will be paid for their participation.

  • Age: 14 years - 18 years

Current (past-month) users of alcohol, marijuana or tobacco
