Brief description of study.

The purpose of this study is to gain a better understanding of metabolic bone diseases through DNA analysis.

Detailed description of study

Evidence suggests that genetic factors play a significant role in metabolic bone diseases. Therefore, it is important that the DNA of the individuals with diseases in which inherited factors may play a role be available for research. This study will obtain DNA from volunteers. The DNA will be extracted and analyzed (sequencing of genes that have become known to cause disease). The remainder of the sample will be stored for and future DNA and biochemical testing that will help us understand the disease a little better.
Participants will not be paid for their participation.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: healthy,metabolic bone disease
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

Inclusion Criteria
Possible metabolic bone disease OR healthy controls

This study investigates metabolic bone diseases by analyzing DNA. Metabolic bone diseases affect how bones grow and function, often due to genetic factors. The purpose of this study is to understand these genetic influences better.

Participants will provide DNA samples, which will be extracted and analyzed to look for genes that might cause these diseases. Any remaining samples will be stored for future research to further explore the disease.

  • Who can participate: Individuals with possible metabolic bone disease or healthy controls can participate.
  • Study details: Participants will provide DNA samples for analysis. The investigational study will focus on genetic analysis without a placebo component.
