The purpose of this research study is to look at endothelial cells and blood vessel function in children with diabetes when their blood sugar numbers are very high (at diagnosis) and more controlled (at the first follow-up visit).

The purpose of this research study is to look at endothelial cells and blood vessel function in children with diabetes when their blood sugar numbers are very high (at diagnosis) and more controlled (at the first follow-up visit).
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Diabetes - Type I

Age: 4 years - 17 years

This study investigates the function of endothelial cells and blood vessels in children who have diabetes. Endothelial cells line the inside of blood vessels and play a crucial role in vascular health. The study aims to understand how these cells and blood vessels function when blood sugar levels are very high, such as at the time of diabetes diagnosis, and when they are more controlled, like at the first follow-up visit.
Participants will undergo procedures to assess the health and function of their blood vessels and endothelial cells. These procedures will occur at different times, specifically when blood sugar levels are high and when they are more controlled.
- Who can participate: Children aged X to Y diagnosed with diabetes are eligible to participate in this study.
- Study details: Participants will have their blood vessel function and endothelial cells assessed during high and controlled blood sugar levels.
