Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Ciliary Dyskinesia
-
Age: 10 years or below
-
Gender: All
This study investigates primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) lung disease. PCD is a condition where tiny hair-like structures in the lungs do not work properly, leading to breathing problems. The purpose of this study is to understand when PCD lung disease starts and how it changes over time.
Participants will undergo tests to see how well their lungs work, what germs grow in lung secretions, and how their lungs look on special x-rays called volumetric computed tomography (CT). These procedures will help doctors learn more about PCD lung disease.
- Who can participate: Participants must be within a specified age range and meet key eligibility criteria related to health and medical history.
- Study details: Participants will have lung function tests and provide samples of lung secretions for analysis. They will also have their lungs examined using special x-rays called volumetric computed tomography (CT). If applicable, a placebo may be used, which is an inactive substance that looks like the investigational medicine/vaccine but does not contain any medicine.
