A Phase III Randomized Clinical Trial of Standard Adjuvant Endocrine Therapy +/- Chemotherapy in Patients with 1-3 Positive Nodes Hormone Receptor-Positive and HER2-Negative Breast Cancer with Recurrence Score (RS) of 25 or Less
Investigating Treatments for Invasive Breast Cancer
Brief description of study.
This phase III clinical trial is studying how well giving tamoxifen citrate, anastrozole, letrozole, or exemestane with or without chemotherapy works in treating patients with invasive breast cancer.
Detailed description of study
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of chemotherapy in patients with node positive breast cancer who do not have high Recurrence Scores (RS) by Oncotype DX.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Breast Cancer
-
Age: 18 years - 100 years
-
Gender: Female
This study investigates treatments for patients with invasive breast cancer. Invasive breast cancer is a type of cancer that has spread from the original site in the breast to nearby tissues. The purpose of this study is to see how well different treatments work, including the use of investigational medications like tamoxifen citrate, anastrozole, letrozole, or exemestane, with or without chemotherapy.
Participants will receive one of the investigational medications, and some may also receive chemotherapy. The study aims to understand the effects of these treatments on patients who have breast cancer with positive lymph nodes but do not have high Recurrence Scores, which is a measure of the likelihood of cancer returning.
- Who can participate: Participants of any age with invasive breast cancer must have node positive status and a low Recurrence Score by Oncotype DX.
- Study details: Participants will be assigned to receive an investigational medication, with some also receiving chemotherapy. The investigational medications include tamoxifen citrate, anastrozole, letrozole, or exemestane.
