Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Healthy
  • Age: 18 years - 80 years
  • Gender: All

This study investigates how long it takes for biofilm, which is a layer of bacteria, to fully develop on enamel specimens. These specimens are placed in a partial denture, which is a removable dental appliance used to replace missing teeth. Understanding biofilm development is important as it can affect dental health.

Participants in this study will have enamel specimens placed in their partial dentures. The study will monitor the biofilm formation on these specimens over time to determine the optimal duration for biofilm maturation. Biofilm is a complex community of bacteria that can lead to dental issues if not properly managed.

  • Who can participate: Participants aged 18 and older with partial dentures are eligible. Key eligibility includes having no active dental infections and being able to attend all study visits.
  • Study details: Participants will have enamel specimens placed in their partial dentures. The study will involve regular monitoring of biofilm development on these specimens to determine the maturation period. Participants will be required to attend regular check-ups.
