Is short-interval follow-up after benign concordant MRI-guided breast biopsy necessary?
Study on Breast Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Follow-Up Intervals for Cancer Detection
Brief description of study.
The purpose of this study is to determine if 6 month follow up breast MR is necessary or if annual screening MRI is acceptable to maintain a reasonable cancer detection rate.
Detailed description of study
The purpose of this study is to determine if 6 month follow up breast MR is necessary or if annual screening MRI is acceptable to maintain a reasonable cancer detection rate.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Breast Cancer
-
Age: 100 years or below
-
Gender: All
This study investigates the necessity of a 6-month follow-up breast MRI compared to an annual screening MRI. The goal is to find out which schedule is better for detecting breast cancer at a reasonable rate. MRI, or Magnetic Resonance Imaging, is a test that uses powerful magnets and radio waves to create pictures of the breast.
Participants in the study will undergo either a 6-month follow-up MRI or an annual screening MRI. This will help researchers compare the effectiveness of both schedules in detecting breast cancer. The study will not involve any treatment, only monitoring through imaging.
- Who can participate: Eligibility includes adults aged 18 and older with a history of breast cancer or high risk of developing breast cancer. Specific criteria may include previous breast cancer diagnosis or genetic predisposition.
- Study details: Participants will have breast MRIs either every 6 months or annually. The study focuses on monitoring through imaging, not on providing any treatment.
