The purpose of this study is to investigate what happens when people use stereotype to excuse poor performance.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Healthy
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates how people use stereotypes to explain their poor performance. Stereotypes are widely held but fixed and oversimplified images or ideas of particular types of people or things.

Participants in the study may be asked to perform tasks and then explain their performance. The study will observe the explanations given, focusing on those that involve stereotypes.

  • Who can participate: There are no specific eligibility criteria; anyone can participate.
  • Study details: Participants will perform tasks and provide explanations for their performance. The explanations involving stereotypes will be the focus of observation.
