The purpose of this study is to determine how effective lacosamide (a medicine used to treat seizures) is in reducing the amount of pain medication needed following a total hip arthroplasty.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: total hip arthroplasty

Age: 100 years or below

Gender: All
The purpose of this study is to determine how effective an investigational medication is in reducing the amount of pain medication needed following a total hip arthroplasty. Total hip arthroplasty is a type of surgery to replace a damaged hip joint with a prosthesis.
Participants will receive either the investigational medication or a placebo. A placebo is an inactive substance that looks like the investigational medication but does not contain any medicine.
- Who can participate: Eligibility criteria include adults undergoing total hip arthroplasty.
- Study details: Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the investigational medication or a placebo.
