The purpose of this study is to assess what intonation contour native Catalan speakers use when faced with situations of requests and offers.

The purpose of this study is to assess what intonation contour native Catalan speakers use when faced with situations of requests and offers.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Healthy
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

The purpose of this study is to investigate the intonation patterns that native Catalan speakers use when they are making requests or offers. Intonation refers to the rise and fall of the voice in speaking, which can change the meaning of what is being said.

Participants in the study will be asked to engage in conversations where they will need to make requests and offers. Their speech will be recorded and analyzed to understand the intonation contours used in these situations.

  • Who can participate: The study is seeking native Catalan speakers. Participants should be 18 years and older and fluent in Catalan.
  • Study details: Participants' conversations will be recorded and analyzed to study their intonation patterns during requests and offers.
