Timing of aneurysm surgery: Emergency versus Early treatment
Timing of Treatments for Ruptured Aneurysms After Hemorrhage
Brief description of study.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the outcomes of ruptured aneurysm treatment by surgery or endovascular route based on the time to treatment after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH).
Detailed description of study
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the outcomes of ruptured aneurysm treatment by surgery or endovascular route based on the time to treatment after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH).
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: aneurysm,subarachnoid hemorrhage
-
Age: 100 years or below
-
Gender: All
This study investigates the outcomes of treating ruptured aneurysms, which are bulges in blood vessels that have burst, using either surgery or an endovascular approach. An endovascular approach involves procedures done inside the blood vessels. The focus is on how quickly patients receive treatment after experiencing a subarachnoid hemorrhage, which is bleeding in the space surrounding the brain.
Participants will undergo either surgical treatment or an endovascular procedure to manage their ruptured aneurysm. The study will compare the outcomes of these two methods based on the time elapsed from the subarachnoid hemorrhage to the treatment. This will help understand the impact of treatment timing on recovery.
- Who can participate: Eligibility criteria for this study have not been provided. Please contact the study team for detailed information.
- Study details: Participants will either have surgery or an endovascular procedure to treat their ruptured aneurysm. An endovascular procedure is done inside the blood vessels and may involve techniques like coiling to prevent further bleeding. If a placebo is involved, it is an inactive substance that looks like the investigational medicine/vaccine but does not contain any medicine.
