Sleep Apnea Sympathetic Nerve Activity and Cardiac Arrhythmia
Investigating Electrical Activity Recording During Sleep and Heart Rhythm Procedures
Brief description of study.
The purpose of this study is to record electrical activity from patches applied to skin (just the way an cardiac electrocardiogram is done) during sleep study and/or prior to, during and post atrial fibrillation ablation.
Detailed description of study
The purpose of this study is to record electrical activity from patches applied to skin (just the way an cardiac electrocardiogram is done) during sleep study and/or prior to, during and post atrial fibrillation ablation.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: atrial fibrillation
-
Age: 100 years or below
-
Gender: All
The purpose of this study is to investigate how electrical activity can be recorded from the skin using patches, similar to a cardiac electrocardiogram. This process will be observed during a sleep study and around the time of an atrial fibrillation ablation, which is a procedure to treat an irregular heartbeat.
Participants will have patches applied to their skin to record electrical activity. This study will observe the electrical signals before, during, and after the atrial fibrillation ablation procedure, as well as during a sleep study.
- Who can participate: Eligibility criteria include age and other key factors, which will be specified for interested participants.
- Study details: Participants will have patches placed on their skin to record electrical activity, similar to a cardiac electrocardiogram, which records the heart's electrical signals.
