The purpose of this study is to operationalize the degree of presence by using secondary task response time to visual probes varying in locations on the computer screen.

The purpose of this study is to operationalize the degree of presence by using secondary task response time to visual probes varying in locations on the computer screen.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: healthy
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

The purpose of this study is to investigate the degree of presence. Presence in this context refers to the sense of being in a particular environment, even if it is virtual. The study will use response times to visual probes that appear in different locations on a computer screen to measure presence.

Participants will be asked to perform secondary tasks while responding to these visual probes on a computer screen. The response time to these probes will help determine the level of presence experienced by the participant.

  • Who can participate: Participants must be adults aged 18-65, with normal or corrected-to-normal vision, and no history of neurological disorders.
  • Study details: Participants will perform tasks while responding to visual probes to measure response times.
