The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the feasibility of using a technology called next generation genome sequencing to study the molecular and genetic relationships between germ cell tumors at the time of initial diagnosis and those that occur at late relapse.

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the feasibility of using a technology called next generation genome sequencing to study the molecular and genetic relationships between germ cell tumors at the time of initial diagnosis and those that occur at late relapse.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Neoplasms
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

The purpose of this study is to investigate the use of next generation genome sequencing. This technology will be used to study the molecular and genetic relationships between germ cell tumors at the time of initial diagnosis and those that occur at late relapse. Germ cell tumors are a type of tumor that begins in the cells that give rise to sperm or eggs.

Participants in the study will have their tumor samples analyzed using next generation genome sequencing. This process involves examining the DNA of the tumor to identify any genetic changes that may have occurred over time. By comparing these samples from initial diagnosis and late relapse, researchers aim to understand how the tumors evolve.

  • Who can participate: Participants must be adults aged 18 and older with a diagnosis of germ cell tumor. Key eligibility factors include the ability to provide informed consent and the availability of tumor samples from both initial diagnosis and late relapse.
