The purpose of this study is to find out whether multilingual speakers have advantages in front of monolingual speakers in processing sentences with ambiguities.

The purpose of this study is to find out whether multilingual speakers have advantages in front of monolingual speakers in processing sentences with ambiguities.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: healthy
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates how multilingual speakers process sentences with ambiguities compared to monolingual speakers. Sentence processing refers to how we understand and interpret sentences, especially when they have more than one possible meaning.

Participants will be asked to read and interpret sentences with different meanings. The study aims to see if speaking multiple languages provides any advantage in understanding these complex sentences.

  • Who can participate: The study is open to multilingual and monolingual speakers. Participants should have proficiency in at least one language and be within the age range of 18 to 65 years.
  • Study details: Participants will read sentences and provide interpretations. The study compares multilingual and monolingual sentence understanding. If applicable, a placebo will be used, which is an inactive substance that looks like the investigational medicine/vaccine but does not contain any medicine.
