Safety and Efficacy of Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastro-Jejunostomy Compared to Nasoenteric Feeding Tube in Severe Acute Pancreatitis
Investigating Enteral Nutrition Methods in Severe Acute Pancreatitis
Brief description of study.
The purpose of this study is to compare the outcomes of enteral nutrition using PEG/J or N/J in patients with severe acute pancreatitis.
Detailed description of study
The purpose of this study is to compare the outcomes of enteral nutrition using PEG/J or N/J in patients with severe acute pancreatitis.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: pancreatitis
-
Age: 100 years or below
-
Gender: All
This study investigates the outcomes of enteral nutrition in patients with severe acute pancreatitis. Enteral nutrition involves feeding patients through a tube directly into the stomach or small intestine. This study compares two methods: PEG/J, which is a tube placed through the skin into the stomach and small intestine, and N/J, which is a tube inserted through the nose into the small intestine.
Participants in the study will receive either PEG/J or N/J enteral nutrition. The study will monitor their health and recovery to determine which method provides better outcomes. Enteral nutrition is a common practice for patients who cannot eat by mouth due to severe pancreatitis.
- Who can participate: Details on who can participate in this study, including age criteria and key eligibility factors, are not specified.
- Study details: Participants will receive nutrition through a feeding tube, either PEG/J or N/J, to assess recovery outcomes.
