IUCRO-0042; Blood Drawing for Study of Peripheral Blood T-Lymphocytes and Other Parameters in patients with Metastatic Melanoma and Renal Cell Cancer with Spontaneous Regression
Study of How the Immune System Works in Metastatic Melanoma and Renal Cell Cancer
Brief description of study.
The purpose of this trial is to collect peripheral blood from patients with metastatic melanoma and renal cell cancer who have experienced spontaneous regression in order to study immune response.
Detailed description of study
The purpose of this study is to collect blood and clinical data from patients with metastatic melanoma and renal cell cancer who have experienced spontaneous regression for studies of immune response and other factors that may influence these occurrences.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Metastatic Melanoma and Renal Cell Carcinoma,Metastatic Melanoma,Renal Cell Carcinoma,Metastatic,Melanoma,Carcinoma,Renal
-
Age: 18 years - 100 years
-
Gender: All
Inclusion Criteria
Patients must have metastatic melanoma or renal cell cancer with spontaneous regression.
Willingness to undergo phlebotomy for research blood samples
Exclusion Criteria
Concurrent disease or condition that would make the patient inappropriate for study participation or any serious medical or psychiatric disorder that would interfere with the subject's safety
Dementia, altered mental status, or any psychiatric condition that would prohibit the understanding or rendering of informed consent
This study investigates the immune response in patients with metastatic melanoma and renal cell cancer who have experienced spontaneous regression. Metastatic melanoma and renal cell cancer are types of cancer that have spread to other parts of the body. Spontaneous regression is when cancer shrinks or disappears without treatment. The purpose of this study is to understand how the body's immune system may influence this process.
Participants will undergo a procedure called phlebotomy, which is the process of drawing blood. This blood will be collected for research purposes to study immune responses and other factors that might be involved in the spontaneous regression of these cancers.
- Who can participate: Adults with metastatic melanoma or renal cell cancer who have experienced spontaneous regression can participate. Those with serious medical or psychiatric conditions that affect safety or consent are not eligible.
- Study details: Participants will undergo blood draws, known as phlebotomy, for research purposes. No medicine will be given as part of this study, and participants will not receive payment for their participation.
