Brief description of study.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate a Technology Assisted Dietary Assessment (TADA) system that assesses daily energy intake by using food images with children aged 7 to 11 years; to have children use a smartphone (iPhone 5) that integrates the TADA system with our previously developed Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) system that collects daily behavioral information (thoughts, feelings, and actions) and to determine the ease and quality of information obtained using this smartphone in a small sample of Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) survivors who are less than 11 years of age.

Detailed description of study

The purpose this study is to determine if children aged, 7- 11 years, who have survived a pediatric cancer can adequately take food images of all foods and beverages eaten, complete daily ratings of their behaviors and emotions, and complete ratings of hunger and feelings of fullness across a four day period.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: acute lymphocytic leukemia
  • Age: 7 years - 11 years
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the use of a Technology Assisted Dietary Assessment (TADA) system to evaluate daily energy intake in children aged 7 to 11 years. The study aims to integrate the TADA system with an Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) system, which collects daily information about the children's thoughts, feelings, and actions. The focus is on understanding how well these systems work together in a small group of children who have survived Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL).

Participants will use a smartphone to take pictures of all foods and beverages they consume. They will also provide daily ratings of their behaviors, emotions, hunger, and feelings of fullness over a four-day period. This process will help determine the ease and quality of information collected using the smartphone technology.

  • Who can participate: Children aged 7 to 11 years who have survived Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) and are able to use a smartphone are eligible to participate.
  • Study details: The study is specifically for children who have survived Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL). Participants will use a smartphone to take pictures of all foods and beverages consumed and provide daily ratings of behaviors, emotions, hunger, and fullness over four days. The smartphone will be integrated with the TADA and EMA systems.
