The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of having an enhanced ability to understand/interpret/appreciate the humor of a parody of a presidential debate, by virtue of having seen the original debate prior to viewing a parody of the (same) debate.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of having an enhanced ability to understand/interpret/appreciate the humor of a parody of a presidential debate, by virtue of having seen the original debate prior to viewing a parody of the (same) debate.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

This study investigates how watching an original presidential debate affects the understanding and enjoyment of a parody of the same debate. By comparing participants who have seen the original debate to those who have not, researchers aim to understand the role of prior knowledge in humor appreciation.
Participants will watch both an original presidential debate and its parody. Their reactions and understanding of the parody will be assessed to determine how prior exposure influences humor interpretation.
- Who can participate: The study is open to adults aged 18 and over who are interested in political debates and humor. Participants should be willing to watch both original debates and their parodies.
- Study details: Participants will watch an original presidential debate followed by its parody and then provide feedback on their understanding and enjoyment. A placebo is not used in this study.
