Cost Effectiveness of Acid Fast Bacilli in Orthopedic Trauma
Investigating the Effectiveness of Bacteria Tests in Orthopedic Trauma
Brief description of study.
The purpose of this study is to determine if the Acid Fast Bacilli (AFB) laboratory test is effective, and evaluate and quantify the value of obtaining AFB cultures in routine orthopedic trauma cases.
Detailed description of study
The purpose of this study is to determine if the Acid Fast Bacilli (AFB) laboratory test is effective, and evaluate and quantify the value of obtaining AFB cultures in routine orthopedic trauma cases.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Orthopedic Trauma
-
Age: 100 years or below
-
Gender: All
The purpose of this study is to determine if the Acid Fast Bacilli (AFB) laboratory test is effective, and evaluate and quantify the value of obtaining AFB cultures in routine orthopedic trauma cases. AFB tests are used to detect bacteria that cause diseases such as tuberculosis, and this study aims to see how useful they are in orthopedic injuries, which affect bones and muscles.
Participants in this study will undergo AFB laboratory testing to collect data on its effectiveness in orthopedic trauma cases. The study will involve obtaining cultures, which are samples taken from the body to see if bacteria grow, helping doctors understand the presence of specific bacteria.
- Who can participate: Eligibility criteria are not specified for this study. Participants should ideally be adults with orthopedic injuries.
- Study details: Participants will undergo AFB laboratory testing to evaluate its effectiveness in orthopedic trauma cases. Cultures will be obtained to determine the presence of bacteria.
