Brief description of study.

The purpose of this study is to determine whether blood loss, pain, and functional outcomes vary in patients who received knee replacement with and without cement fixation.

Detailed description of study

The purpose of this study is to determine whether blood loss, pain, and functional outcomes vary in patients who received knee replacement with and without cement fixation.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: knee replacement
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

The purpose of this study is to determine whether blood loss, pain, and functional outcomes vary in patients who received knee replacement with and without cement fixation. Knee replacement is a surgery where a damaged knee joint is replaced with artificial parts. Cement fixation refers to using a special glue to hold the new parts in place.

Participants in this study will undergo knee replacement surgery and be assigned to one of two study arms: one receiving cement fixation and the other not receiving cement fixation. The study will monitor blood loss, pain levels, and functional outcomes, which refer to how well the knee works after surgery.

  • Who can participate: Participants must be adults aged 18 years and older who require knee replacement surgery. Key eligibility factors include having a diagnosis that necessitates knee replacement and being in good general health to undergo surgery.
  • Study details: Participants will be randomly assigned to receive knee replacement surgery with or without cement fixation. The study will compare outcomes like blood loss and pain between the two groups.
