Detailed description of study

The purpose of this study is to determine the relationships among the clinical, neuroimaging, cognitive, genetic and proteomic biomarker characteristics for the entire spectrum of TBI from concussion to coma.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: traumatic brain injury
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the relationships among various characteristics in traumatic brain injury (TBI), which ranges from mild concussions to severe coma. TBI affects the brain and can cause changes in thinking, memory, and behavior. The study will look at clinical features, brain imaging, cognitive tests, genetic factors, and proteins in the body to better understand TBI.

Participants will undergo procedures that include brain imaging and cognitive tests. Brain imaging helps visualize the brain's structure and function, while cognitive tests assess thinking and memory skills. The study will also examine genetic and protein markers that may be linked to TBI.

  • Who can participate: Participants aged 18-65 with a diagnosis of traumatic brain injury are eligible. Key factors include the severity of the injury and the time since the injury occurred.
  • Study details: Participants will undergo brain imaging and cognitive tests. The study will also involve collecting genetic and protein information to explore their relationship with TBI.
