A Pilot Study Evaluating a Novel Biodynamic Imaging (BDI) Method in Predicating Response to Chemotherapy in Locoregional Esophageal Cancer
Study on Biodynamic Imaging Technique for Esophageal Cancer
Brief description of study.
Researchers would like to determine if a new imaging technique called Biodynamic Imagining (BDI) is appropriate for clinical use in the treatment of esophageal cancer. The purpose of this study is to determine if the tumor tissue can be collected, transported and successfully processed using BDI technology.
Detailed description of study
Researchers would like to determine if a new imaging technique called Biodynamic Imagining (BDI) is appropriate for clinical use in the treatment of esophageal cancer. The purpose of this study is to determine if the tumor tissue can be collected, transported and successfully processed using BDI technology.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: esophageal cancer
-
Age: 18 years - 100 years
-
Gender: All
Inclusion Criteria
Histologically confirmed adenocarcinoma of the esophagus
Must have a TNM stag I-III disease and no evidence of distant metastasis
Previously untreated for esophageal cancer
Must be medically fit and willing to receive chemoradiation therapy for their disease
This study investigates the use of a new imaging technique called Biodynamic Imaging (BDI) for esophageal cancer. The purpose of this study is to see if tumor tissue can be collected, transported, and processed using BDI technology. Esophageal cancer is a disease where malignant cells form in the tissues of the esophagus, which is the tube through which food passes from the throat to the stomach.
Participants in this study will have their tumor tissue collected and analyzed using the BDI technique. This process involves taking a sample of the tumor tissue to see if it can be successfully processed with BDI technology. The goal is to determine if this imaging method is suitable for clinical use.
- Who can participate: Adults with a confirmed diagnosis of adenocarcinoma of the esophagus, at TNM stage I-III, and no distant metastasis may participate. Participants must be medically fit and willing to undergo chemoradiation therapy. They should not have received previous treatment for esophageal cancer.
- Study details: Participants will have their tumor tissue analyzed using the Biodynamic Imaging (BDI) technique to evaluate the imaging method's effectiveness.
