Brief description of study.

The purpose of this study is to identify biomarkers (small molecules in the blood) that can predict those people at risk of developing Type 1 diabetes.

Detailed description of study

The purpose of this study is to develop and validate biomarkers that predict T1D disease risk and document disease progression based on blood or urine indicators of beta cell stress and death in emerging and establish T1D.
Participants will be compensated for their participation.

This study investigates biomarkers, which are small molecules found in the blood, to understand who might be at risk for developing Type 1 diabetes. The purpose is to find and test these biomarkers to see if they can show how the disease starts and progresses, using signs from blood or urine related to the health of beta cells, which are important for insulin production.

Participants in the study will undergo procedures to collect blood and urine samples. These samples will be analyzed to look for indicators of beta cell stress and death, which can provide information about the risk and progression of Type 1 diabetes.

  • Who can participate: The study is open to healthy adults or children who do not have diabetes, or those newly diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes within the last 7 days.
  • Study details: Participants will provide blood and urine samples for analysis. These samples will be used to identify biomarkers that indicate stress and damage to beta cells, which are crucial for insulin production.
