Brief description of study.

The purpose of this study is to describe the value of inpatient management during initial hospitalization for tracheostomy, and identify what hospital and patient factors decrease the patient?s value of care; and to describe the value of patient care during the first year following tracheostomy, and identify what factors decrease the value of patient care during this time period

Detailed description of study

The purpose of this study is to describe the value of inpatient management during initial hospitalization for tracheostomy, and identify what hospital and patient factors decrease the patient?s value of care; and to describe the value of patient care during the first year following tracheostomy, and identify what factors decrease the value of patient care during this time period

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: tracheostomy
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the value of inpatient management during the initial hospital stay for patients with a tracheostomy. A tracheostomy is a medical procedure where a hole is made in the neck to place a tube into a person's windpipe, allowing them to breathe. The study aims to identify hospital and patient factors that might reduce the quality of care during this period.

Additionally, the study examines the value of patient care during the first year after receiving a tracheostomy. It seeks to understand which factors might decrease the quality of care during this time.

  • Who can participate: Eligibility criteria include adults who have undergone a tracheostomy and are in the initial stages of inpatient care.
  • Study details: Participants will be assessed on various hospital and patient factors that might affect the quality of care during their initial hospital stay and the first year after receiving a tracheostomy.
