Brief description of study.

The purpose of the focus groups is to understand communication and coordination of care around clinical evaluation and management of hypoglycemia and diabetes mellitus. Some of the clinicians may have had experience talking with patients about preventing and responding to hypoglycemia events, while others may not. We are interested in perspectives among both groups.

The purpose of the focus groups is to understand communication and coordination of care around clinical evaluation and management of hypoglycemia and diabetes mellitus. Some of the clinicians may have had experience talking with patients about preventing and responding to hypoglycemia events, while others may not. We are interested in perspectives among both groups.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: diabetes mellitus
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates how doctors and healthcare providers talk about and manage diabetes and low blood sugar, also known as hypoglycemia. Diabetes mellitus is a condition where the body has trouble controlling blood sugar levels. Hypoglycemia is when blood sugar levels drop too low. The study aims to learn from doctors who have experience discussing these issues with patients and those who do not.

The study involves focus groups where healthcare providers will share their experiences and thoughts. The focus groups are discussions where participants talk about their views on managing and preventing low blood sugar events in patients with diabetes. This will help the researchers understand different communication methods used in care.

  • Who can participate: Doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals with or without experience in discussing hypoglycemia management are eligible.
  • Study details: Participants will engage in focus group discussions to share their communication experiences regarding diabetes care.
