Detailed description of study

The aim of this study is to evaluate alterations in thromboelastography (TEG) parameters and ratios in the setting of cirrhosis that can identify patients at risk for bleeding or thrombotic events.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: cirrhosis
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the changes in blood clotting in patients with cirrhosis. Cirrhosis is a condition where the liver is damaged and scarred, affecting its function. The study uses a test called thromboelastography (TEG) to measure how well the blood clots in these patients. This can help identify those who might be at risk of bleeding or forming dangerous clots.

Participants in the study will undergo thromboelastography (TEG) testing. This procedure involves taking a small sample of blood and analyzing it to see how quickly and effectively it forms clots. This information is crucial for understanding the risk of bleeding or clotting in patients with cirrhosis.

  • Who can participate: The study is open to individuals diagnosed with cirrhosis. Participants should be adults capable of providing informed consent.
  • Study details: Participants will have their blood tested using thromboelastography (TEG) to assess clotting function. This test helps determine the risk of bleeding or clotting.
