Technology and Trails
Children's Use of Technology on Trails
Brief description of study.
This multi-sited study foregrounds children?s experiences with technology along trails in the American Midwest. There is a concern that mobile technologies, such as smart phones, are a factor in decreasing the human connection to nature. To date, most research regarding technology on the trails has centered on adult use. Within this context this project seeks to answer the following research question:
How do children and youth encounters with mobile digital technology, matter, and space along trails contribute diverse perspectives about the relationship between humans, technology and nature?
