Brief description of study.

The purpose of this research is to understand how a mid-sized urban school district (i.e., Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation) implements a new school improvement process, which is referred to as improvement science, within the context of a university-district professional development partnership. The study will examine both district and school responses to the improvement process using qualitative research methods.

The purpose of this research is to understand how a mid-sized urban school district (i.e., Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation) implements a new school improvement process, which is referred to as improvement science, within the context of a university-district professional development partnership. The study will examine both district and school responses to the improvement process using qualitative research methods.

This study investigates how a mid-sized urban school district implements a school improvement process called improvement science. Improvement science is a method used to enhance educational practices through systematic inquiry. The study is set within a partnership between a university and the school district.

Participants in the study will be observed and interviewed to gather information about their experiences with the improvement process. Qualitative research methods, which involve collecting non-numerical data like interviews and observations, will be used to understand the responses of both district and school staff.
