Behavioral Disinhibition in Early-onset Alcoholism
Brief description of study.
The objective in this project is to elucidate the cognitive (working memory) and motivational (response to gains and losses) processes in alcohol dependence and related behavioral problems (called externalizing [EXT] disorders, such as other substance abuse, conduct disorder, adult antisocial behavior, borderline personality and attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder). The study also takes a broader perspective on alcohol dependence and related EXT problems and assesses them more as dimensional phenomena, than as strictly categorical diagnostic entities (i.e., discrete disorders or ?diseases?).
